Outer Harbor Channel Widening Project

Flinders Ports is proposing to widen the Outer Harbor of Port Adelaide to safely support the increasing global shipping trend of larger vessels, known as ‘Post Panamax’.

The proposal aligns with the strategic direction of the state set within both polices and plans to ensure a strong and sustainable economy is supported through South Australia’s exporting and manufacturing businesses.

Flinders Ports has submitted a Development Application Report for proposal to the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI).
The Report is currently open for public comment and assessment.

The DA Report provides details about the proposed dredging project including the need for the project, alternatives considered, potential impacts and benefits, methods to address these impacts and a proposed plan for how the dredging would be undertaken.

You can view the DA Report online.  Submissions regarding the DA Report should be directed to DPTI by the closing date.
